Who are we
Welcome to the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award in Nepal! Let's take a fun trip down memory lane. In 1956, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, had a vision for young people to discover their potential. Today, his idea has grown into a global movement, impacting lives in over 130 countries, including Nepal since 2015. Even before 2015, some schools in Nepal were already part of this journey, running independent award centres. Our country's history with the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is filled with inspiring stories of growth and transformation. Saksham Yuwa Nepal, an NGO, runs the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award (DoEIA) in Nepal. As the National Award Operator, they work hard to make the Award accessible to all young people, regardless of their background. They have partnered with over 100 schools and organisations, including private and community schools, youth groups, and juvenile centres, helping around 1500 young people earn their awards in the past five years.
