The Award Foundation hosted the Spotlight Session where Award participants received a platform to express the challenges faced by young people today. The Spotlight Session aimed to shine a light on the societal issues facing young people today and the role non-formal education and learning plays in helping them to face these challenges. The first ever digital Spotlight Session was held on Thursday March 5,2020, where participants were given an opportunity to voice the challenge they face. Two videos from Nepal were also showcased during the Spotlight Session. Kurana Gauchan and Pragyan Kumar Acharya had submitted videos expressing the challenges faced by young people today. The two participants from Nepal presented on different topic that they viewed were the biggest challenges facing youth today. Award participant, Karuna, discusses why she believes listening to be one of the key life skills that all young people need to learn, and explains why she believes properly listening to one another could help solve many of the world’s problems. Pragyan Kumar Acharya in his video explains mental health, stress and miscommunication to be the three biggest challenges that youth face today.
The Spotlight Session was a great platform provided by the Award Foundation to the participants to voice their opinion and concerns. We home we can be involved in more sessions like this where Award Participants get an opportunity to express themselves.
