The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is starting 3 participant sub-committees; the participant sub-committees will be run by award participants and it is a way for the award participants to be more involved in the award program. The 3 participant sub-committees would be; advisory, communications, and fundraising. Award participants involved in the participant sub-committees can used the hours spent in the committee as their service hours. The purpose of the participant sub-committees is to empower the participants and for them to have a voice in the Award program. They will be able to express their ideas and suggestions to the National Award Operator and the Board. This program allows the participant to be part of a real-world project and work as a team to handle real world issues. The program is designed to improve participants team work, creativity and problem solving abilities. By the end of this program we want the participants to have gained valuable experience as how to handle real life issues as a team.
Below is the link to the participant sub-committee’s application form, we invite all Award Units to apply for the committee. The National Award Operator will select 3 Award units to run the 3 participant sub-committees. Each Award Unit will be allowed to run only one participant sub-committee.
